the way you can see the basil peering through the green tomato. the colours. the cutting board. the crumbs.
on an unrelated note: what do you guys think of higher education? do you spot any flaws? does it fit appropriately into our current society and culture? is it too much, not enough, just right? are the right people in the right field? how do we/you/they know that? how can we learn effectively and retain it? connections, networking. what does that mean, anyway? how can we do what we love? how do we know we’re doing what we love? at what point is passion not enough? what is normal? what is acceptable?

  1. volkamenia said: not sure if i’m in the right field, just along for the ride! i’ve definitely never been pushed this hard before, so i appreciate that kinda. we do a lot of “networking” here with all the retirement parties - it’s nice to meet alums who are happy now!
  2. sarsann said: mmmm heirlooms! higher ed should not be pursued directly out of undergrad, bottom line. 1. you need a break from academics 2. you don’t want to get roped into a program if you’re unsure about it 3. there are too many people with PhD’s these days :)
